Samsung's Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology converts any content from video content to 8K resolution

Samsung Electronics has introduced the 8K Artificial Intelligence technology for the new 85-inch QLED 8K TV during the launch of The Wall before the 2018 Consumer Electronics Show. Artificial intelligence is based on automated learning to analyze content and automatically convert it to high quality images 8K.

Although the market is experiencing a boom in display screens capable of delivering high-quality images and content with UHD and 8K resolution, many viewers can not enjoy a high-resolution integrated experience because of the lack of HD content.

However, Samsung's artificial intelligence technology has removed this challenge by enabling the TV to convert all images and content to 8K, the highest quality digital TV on digital TV and digital cinema. Allowing consumers to enjoy any movie or TV program on any 8K channel regardless of original quality or mode of transmission and broadcast.

Artificial intelligence technology supports the following three features:

First, QLED TV, based on artificial intelligence techniques, is equipped with a database that studies and analyzes millions of images in advance to convert low resolution content to high resolution. When low-resolution content is viewed, this feature from QLED TV converts content to a high quality image.

In addition, by increasing the image processor 64 times, this technology delivers natural images at high resolution, without diluting the gradients in the image. In the twilight, for example, television provides consumers with subtle and smooth gradients.

Finally, the new QLED TV classifies image quality elements (black / lighting / brightness) in input sources by the scene to produce images with richer and more detailed contrast. Through this feature, the edges can be loosened and curved, so that the moonlight image is reflected in the background with clear edges.

In addition, Samsung's artificial intelligence technology enhances the TV's sound for optimal compatibility with specific scenes, without changing any settings. This artificial intelligence technology attracted a lot of attention. Samsung's QLED TV set was awarded the Innovation Award at the 2018 Consumer Electronics Show, honoring outstanding design and engineering in consumer technology products.

QLED 8K TVs will be launched in the second half of 2018, with the focus on launching sets with screens larger than 65 inches. With this technology, Samsung aims to improve the consumer experience by enabling it to enjoy the video content it prefers in a superior, clear and accurate way.
